The Ginseng Ficus or Ficus microcarpa is a unique green plant with a thick woody and sometimes twisted trunk even at a young age. We love this plant for someone who may be getting into specimen plants or the art of Bonsai. Like all ficus, it has a milky sap that is no good for the furry or non-furry beasties in your home. On a scale of 1-10 for difficulty rating, I’m giving this a solid 7. Ficus are like teenagers. If you make them stay in a place they don’t want or change up their routine, you’ll know by the dropping of many leaves. They bounce back quickly, however, so do not despair if this happens to you.
